3. Key Features & Engineering Technology

Comprehensive technology suite from Metrum Cryoflex Poland designed for pain management specialists, orthopedists, and neurosurgeons.

RFID Smart Probe Recognition

Electronic communication between probe and unit automatically identifies probe type, auto-configures pressure, and eliminates manual setup errors.

Built-in Diagnostic Neurostimulator

Precisely locates sensory (50–200 Hz) and motor (1–2 Hz) nerves before freezing, preventing accidental motor nerve damage.

Touchscreen Microprocessor Control

Displays probe temperature, cylinder pressure, gas flow rate, and countdown timer live. Minimal operator input: set time and press start.

Dual Gas Compatibility (CO₂ & N₂O)

Operates on both Carbon Dioxide (−78°C) and Nitrous Oxide (−89°C). A single 10-litre cylinder serves approximately 60 procedures.

Dual-Mode Foot Switch Control

Enables hands-free probe mode selection, cleaning cycle activation, and freeze/thaw cycle control while maintaining complete sterility.

Auto Service & Self-Diagnosis

Automatically detects reduced gas flow or probe blockage and activates service mode to ensure uninterrupted operating room performance.

Voice Communication Guidance

Real-time voice guidance provides audio confirmation of probe status, freeze cycles, and system alerts without looking at console.

Reversible Axonotmesis Safety

Freezes nerve axon while keeping epineurium sheath intact. Axon regenerates naturally in 1–3 months, preventing permanent neuroma.

CRYO-S Painless FAQ

Common Questions

No. Cryoneurolysis selectively disrupts nerve axons (Axonotmesis) while leaving the outer myelin sheath and epineurium intact. Nerve axons fully regenerate over 1 to 3 months, restoring normal sensation once pain resolves.

Before applying sub-zero freezing, the built-in neurostimulator passes low-frequency currents (1–2 Hz for motor, 50–200 Hz for sensory) through the probe tip. If a muscle twitches, the surgeon knows a motor nerve is near and adjusts probe position safely.

CRYO-S Painless works with both CO₂ (−78°C) and N₂O (−89°C). A standard 10-litre gas cylinder yields approximately 60 complete pain procedures.
